Sarande is where the Albanian Riviera reaches its most refined expression. Opposite the Greek island of Corfu, close enough to see on a clear day, Sarande's coastline combines Mediterranean clarity with genuine wilderness. The town is the Riviera's most accessible entry point (direct ferries from Corfu run daily) and the region's busiest hub for tourism, yet within a 20-minute boat ride from the harbor the crowds disappear entirely.
North of Sarande, the coast curves into a series of natural fortresses: Gremina Cape, an imposing limestone headland; Kakome Bay, a deeply sheltered cove called "Albania's Maldives"; and Kroreza Beach, a remote pebble bay ringed on three sides by rock, accessible only from the sea. South of Sarande lies Ksamil: a cluster of four small islands with white sand beaches in turquoise, barely-waist-deep water, plus Turtle Cave and the ruins of the Ali Pasha castle at the tip of the Butrint peninsula.
The southern route explores the most turquoise water in Albania. Ksamil's four islands in water that barely covers your knees, plus extended swimming at Tongo Island.

A completely isolated beach enclosed by high karst cliffs on three sides, with no road access and only a small pier. The water is emerald-turquoise, completely still, and among the clearest in the region.
A remote pebble beach isolated by rocks on three sides, just above Kakome Bay. Turquoise water and rocky natural barriers ensure far fewer visitors than nearby beaches. A small restaurant serves fresh fish.
